Echo is the quintessential matriarch. Here she leads part of her family towards Ol Tukai Orok where they will feed for most of the day. Later they would almost certainly have met up with the rest of the family whereupon there would have been an exuberant greeting ceremony. Echo and her family are one of the most “emotional” and demonstrative of all the families in Amboseli and this is one of the reasons why they are such favourites with all of us who are lucky enough to spend long periods of time with them.
