I found this adult bull was resting beneath an Acacia tortilis tree in the middle of the day. He was very sleepy. Every so often he would scrape up dust and blast it over his head. He blew it with such force that it looked as though his head was exploding. The dust, scraped up from just beneath the surface, helps keep the elephants cool in the heat of the day.
