During the dry season Amboseli's central swamps become the focus of all daily activity. The swamps are fed by underground aquifers from Kilimanjaro. Each morning the elephants move towards the swamps to drink and feed. As they get closer and smell the water some families are unable to curb their enthusiasm and break into an excited run.
